AI is changing what strong teams look like. Bigger is no longer automatically better.

Over the last ten years, I've become a strong believer in small teams of experienced people. At Alyza, our core team has an average of around 25 years of professional experience. That's a very deliberate choice. For me, seniority has less to do with age or years on a CV and more to do with how someone operates:

Taking ownership.
Making decisions.
Challenging each other.
Working without needing a big structure around them.

I think that matters even more now.

When markets and technology move quickly, large structures can slow you down. Small teams that understand the business, trust each other and can decide fast have a real advantage.

That doesn’t mean doing everything manually. When additional workload comes up, our first question is increasingly not: do we need to hire for this? It’s: how much of this can technology take care of, so the team can stay focused on the work where judgment, experience and creativity really matter?

That’s where I see the biggest value in AI. Not as a replacement for strong people. As a way to make strong people more effective.

Where are you already using AI to give experienced teams more capacity?
